Water Temperature Sensors
The function of the water temperature sensor is to provide an analog signal of temperature change to the engine control unit (ECU) through its internal resistance change. Its power supply voltage comes from the power supply provided by the ECU, and the signal returned to the ECU is a linear change signal.
The main function of the water temperature is to inform the ECU of the engine temperature. Its signal is important to the ECU and leads to different working methods of the engine under different working temperatures:
1. Correct the fuel injection amount; when the temperature is low, increase the injection amount.
2. Correct the ignition advance angle; increase the ignition advance angle at low temperature, and delay the ignition to prevent deflagration at high temperature.
3. Affect auxiliary air regulator; at low temperature, ECU activates the auxiliary air regulator to increase the RPM according to the water temperature signal.
